Urgent - Extra Energy has ceased to trade
OFGEM, the energy regulator, has appointed a new supplier: THERE WILL NOT BE A BREAK IN SUPPLY and CREDIT BALANCES WILL BE HONOURED.
Extra Energy, which supplies energy to some of our members, has ceased to trade as of 23 November 2018, Ofgem has appointed Scottish Power to take over their customers. See https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/extra-energy-customers-your-questions-new-supplier-scottish-power for details. Our consultants Fox Energy told us that existing users do not need not to worry, Ofgem has appointed a new supplier that will honour the credit balances of business customers, while the credit of domestic users is already protected.
What to do next:
Ofgem’s advice is not to switch supplier yet, but to wait until the new supplier contacts you before doing anything. This will help make sure that the handing over of the accounts and honouring credit balances is as hassle free as possible. Please call Fox Energy, the TSA's Energy Alliance Partner on 01233 884510 or email email@example.com for free impartial advice.
General support and advice is also available on the Ofgem website - https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/
