Johnsons Apparelmaster shortlisted for HR Excellence award
From Johnsons Apparelmaster press release:
The annual HR Excellence awards celebrate the ‘gold standards’ of HR initiatives and strategies and Johnsons Apparelmaster is proud to have been shortlisted in the Best Talent Management Strategy category alongside other leading organisations in their field, Lancaster University, British Heart Foundation and Macmillan Cancer Support, Royal Bank of Scotland and United Utilities.
When selecting the shortlisted entries, in the most prestigious and longest-running awards in the HR sector, the awards judges were looking for ‘organisations and individuals pushing the boundaries of people strategy’.
Michela Deegan, Johnsons Apparelmaster’s Learning and Development Manager commented: “This is quite a feat as we were up against more entries than ever before and some tough competition, so we are thrilled to have been recognised in this way for our work in attracting and developing employees through our talent management programme. It’s very clear, through so many examples of people who have been supported to grow and take on new positions in our business, that Johnsons Apparelmaster really believes in investing in its people to ensure they become part of our continued success. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our Learning and Development team for their hard work in developing The Johnsons Academy.”
Feedback from participants in The Johnsons Academy has shown that the confidence and skill of the individuals involved increased considerably over a 12 month period with over 70% of Academy members promoted to a new position within the organisation over an 18 month period. The company has a strong heritage of promoting and developing people within the business, which is demonstrated by CEO Peter Egan, the company’s youngest ever CEO, who started working with the business on the shop floor.
This sector accolade follows swiftly on from Johnsons Apparelmaster winning the Personnel Today Awards in November last year. Look out for more news when the category winners are named at a celebratory event on 2 July in London’s Hilton Hotel.
