Tony Blair has announced that the National Minimum Wage will increase in October 2005 by 4.12% to £5.05 per hour from £4.85 (for employees aged 22 and over). In October 2006 the rate will rise again to £5.35 per hour - an increase of 4.95% Rates for those aged 18-21 will increase in October to £4.25 per hour - an increase of 3.7%.
