JOHNSONS APPARELMASTER TRAINING TEAM WIN A PRESTIGIOUS AWARD

In April of this year the Johnsons Apparelmaster Training Dept completed the required 2,500 word entry form & submitted the Project "PRIDE - Pride in our Customers" training programme for the prestigious National Training Awards.

UK Skills the organisers of the awards describe them as "the countries premier accolade for training & development, the awards recognise the impact that training has had on the performance of a business, its employees, customers & the local economy. National Training Award winners are inspiring examples of the best that training & development can achieve".

Along with over 800 other entries Project PRIDE was scrutinised & assessed against a strict criteria & having passed the initial stage the training team received a visit from two members of the judging panel to validate their entry & seek further evidence of their achievements.

In mid August the letter arrived from UK Skills notifying them that they had reached the finals, held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on 3rd October.

In a glittering ceremony Johnsons Apparelmaster received a North West Regional Award.

Training Manager David Kinson said "Project PRIDE was recognised as special because it gave us the opportunity to identify a clear starting point which was our 2004 Customer Satisfaction Survey, carry out a lengthy consultation & training design & then assemble a small team to implement the programme across all Apparelmaster locations. Analysis of our efforts came with the improved customer feedback in the second of our Customer satisfaction surveys in 2005".

He went on to say "this award is the result of a year long planning & delivery programme & the enthusiastic commitment of all our employees. Thank you to everyone who played their part. If I could I'd make this award into 1,850 smaller awards ... because everyone deserves a piece".
