In early October a very brave (or mad) TSA member, Colin Dawe of White Knight Linen Services, together with a friend and Chris Williams, his Sales Manager, will be setting off to Nepal to start a 19 day trek through the Himalayas with the goal of reaching Everest Base Camp which is c 18,000 ft above sea level and where the oxygen content of the air is 50% of that at sea level. When Colin decided to embark on this trip it was for his own enjoyment and experience, however, the more he understood about the extent of the "challenge" he decided to see if people, in recognition of his efforts, would make a donation to Cancer Research. The cost of the trek is already fully met so he is NOT seeking sponsorship. He has produced his own Base Camp web page to all members of the TSA and has asked that we print the details which we are very happy to do, these are shown below. His web page will also take you through to the Cancer Research website if you would like to make a donation. We wish Colin & co. good luck in their walk to the Everest Base Camp. http://www.justgiving.com/trektoeverestbasecamp2007 Back to Memebers' Press Release |
